ABERON experts represent Bulgaria in the Management committee of the COST Action LAND4FLOOD (CA16209). The overall objective of the LAND4FLOOD is to connect trans-disciplinary research with real world policy formulation and decision-making. By bringing together different scientific disciplines and involving multiple stakeholder groups the COST Action will make theoretical and practical knowledge available to support the implementation of flood risk reduction solutions on (private) land at local, regional and catchment levels.
To this end, the LAND4FLOOD brings together a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines and actively involves different actor groups with a practical stake in developing land-use based solutions in flood risk management. Among others, these include landowners and landowner representatives, practitioners such as water engineers as well as policy makers and non-governmental actors.

The Seed Money Facility Call of the Danube Transnational Programme 2018 is funding the development of major project, aiming at accelerating the implementation of smart edge technologies and next generation of smart energy services for power automation in the Danube Region. Specific emphasis is put on the consumers role in the changing markets.
The project contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of the grid, maximizing the value of distributed energy resources, strengthening the competitiveness in the energy sector through establishment of prosumers and acceleration of novel sustainable solutions in power system automation, as well as mitigating energy poverty.
The main project developed under DRiSET is named “iLENET - Intelligent Local Energy Networks to Boost the Low Carbon Development” was submitted under H2020 Call topic LC-SC3-EE4-2019. iLENET undertakes actions tailored with the EUSDR, aligned with the Clean Energy Package and beneficial to Europe’s economy and energy markets under the SET Plan. It also considers the new Energy Performance of Buildings Directive 2018/844 and its pending implementation of the Smartness Readiness Indicator.
ABERON, a technical assistance to the BEMF is participating in the development, implementation and reporting of DRiSET.
Towards farms with zero carbon-, waste- and water-footprint. Roadmap for sustainable management strategies for Balkan agricultural sector - BalkanROAD
BalkanROAD provides tools and policies for economic development, through the adoption of environment protective practices and shares the ambition of farmers to protect the environment modernizing and increase in the meantime the profitability of their enterprises. BalkanROAD has two objectives:
1) to improve Balkan agricultural environment by developing strategies, methodologies and technologies for natural resources conservation (soil, water, air), reduction of GHGs, reduction of waste generation/disposal and increase recycling/reuse ratio in farm systems;
2) to develop a common Balkan Protocol for the production of eco-labeled agricultural products, by introducing sustainable practices throughout the entire production line (from cradle to the market) so that the final products will have measurable, comparable and ultimately the lowest possible environmental footprint.
ABERON OOD, awarded for technical assistance to the Association of Agro-Environmental Farmers, undertakes the GAP and LCA analysis, development of strategies for cultivation and production, contribution to the Balkan Protocol.
