Innovative agroecological measures under the BalkanROAD project are presented by Aberon OOD

Aberon experts, technical assistance to the BalkanROAD project "Towards farms with zero carbon-, waste- and water- footprint. Roadmap for sustainable management strategies for the Balkan agricultural sector" participated in the 8th International Scientific Conference "Agriculture and Food", held in the period 26-29 August 2020 in Bourgas.

Agroecological measures and policies for reducing the carbon-, waste- and water- footprint in agriculture were presented and discussed with stakeholders. The measures and policies are part of the Common Balkan Protocol and the Roadmap - strategic plan for the implementation of the Protocol.

Lecturers and researchers from Albania, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Malaysia, Morocco, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey and others attended the conference. The main topics discussed were organic farming, biotechnology, agricultural machinery, plant protection and fertilization, irrigation and post-harvest treatment.

BalkanROAD project "Towards farms with zero carbon-, waste- and water- footprint. Roadmap for sustainable management strategies for the Balkan agricultural sector" is funded by the Balkan - Mediterranean Program INTERREG 2014-2020.
