Alan Thodey

Alan is Managing Partner of ABERON. He has an Economics and Accounting Degree from the University of Tasmania and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois. As an international consultant, he has worked with Stanford Research Institute, with the Ford Foundation, with USAID Highland (Opium) and others.

Alan has experience in Agricultural Business at California State University, Fresno, California, USA and enterprise level software design, development and marketing with Argos Software, Fresno, California. As owner of the Abelisk Software, he provides IT services for corporate management and governance, strategic planning and software development.

Research and consulting assignments include the agricultural sector, land use optimization, food marketing and distribution, irrigation management, domestic water billing, inventory and sales management for distributors, warehouse management, maintenance management and recycling operations.

Cveta Dimitrova

Cveta is the CEO of ABERON OOD. She holds a Master’s degree in International Economic Relations (Sofia, Bulgaria), a Master’s degree in European Studies (Graz, Austria) and a Post-graduation diploma in Law from the International Development Law Organization (Rome, Italy)

Cveta has more than 15 years of experience in managing European and international projects. She has worked for the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the Ministry of Environment and Water (Bulgaria), for the World Bank (USA and UK), and for the European Commission (Belgium and Spain).

Cveta’s specific exerience ranges from programming, technical assistance and implementation to monitoring and evaluation of programmes and projects funded by the EC, WB and other international donors. The main sectors of expertise are water and waste water, marine, biodiversity, economics and regional development.

Prof. Mark Bonazountas

Mark has an Engineering Degree from the National Technical University of Athens, a Doctorate Degree from the National Technical University of Munich, Diploma in Computer Sciences, Data Processing Institute of Athens, Postdoctoral studies in water resources systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Studies in public policy, Harvard University, J. F. Kennedy School of Government. He is a PPL Pilot & Aviation Radio Communications Engineer in the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority).

His experience ranges from mathematical modeling & IT systems (air, soil, water, ecosystems, health), environmental economics, earth surveying technologies, sustainability indicators, resource efficiency, green-economy, statistics to law-directives and other. The above are combined with geomatics, GIS, remote sensing, space and Info-society technologies, and the use of the internet geospatial portal processing and dissemination.

Mark managed 80+ major EC/RTD projects, has lead and guided 150+ major state-of-technology international projects and has supervised 40+ major academic research projects.

He is fluent in English, German, French, Greek, and knowledgeable in Italian and Flemish.

Prof. Dr. Seraphim Petrov

Prof. Dr. Serafim Petrov is a lead consultant in the field of risk management, management of socioeconomic processes and statistics.

He graduated from the "University of National and World Economy" Sofia, with a master's degree in statistics. Serafim Petrov has a PhD in economics in statistics and professor’s degree from the “International Business School”,Botevgrad in "Modeling, Forecasting and management of socioeconomic processes".

Successfully passed specialization in Italy, the Netherlands, Britain and France, on various topics, some of which are “Management of consulting centers for small and medium size enterprises and entrepreneurship” also “Information and database systems, making management decisions.”. Seraphim holds certificates for financial appraiser from “Chamber of the independent assessors, Bulgaria” and „JICA – Total Quality Management in Practice“ Tokyo, Japan.

Since 1972 works in the field of statistical analyzes, modeling of financial systems, risk and quality management. He currently leads lectures at the International Business School Botevgrad, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", the New Bulgarian University, Sofia and the Technical University, Gabrovo.

Participates in national and international projects funded by the programmes - Tempus, PHARE, Leonardo and others, 47 of which during 1994-2014.

Prof. Evelyn Monev

Vasil Kumanov

Vasil Kumanov is a software and hardware engineer at ABERON OOD. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (2008) and Master’s degree in Communications (2009) from the Technical University Munich, Germany. After graduating he works in different fields of engineering in Germany before he moves back to Bulgaria.

In the period 2008 – 2009 we works at Epcos AG, Munich in the fields of high frequency engineering, SAW filters and passive components. His primary task is testing and validation of various components for mobile applications.

From 2009 to 2012 he works at Lear Corporation, Munich as a software and hardware developer in different automotive projects. The projects are under contract with BMW Group, Munich. His last position in the company is project leader where he manages a team of software and hardware developers in order develop a specific component for cars. His activities include planning, resource allocation, quality assurance and last but not least, he is the hardware and software architect for the project, working closely with the developers.

Since 2012 he works at Queo llc., Sofia in the field of software and hardware development, high frequency devices and web development. His tasks in the projects include development as well as management of these projects.

Vasil joins ABERON OOD to lead the software and hardware development in various projects in the field of environment, ecotechnologies, geographic information systems and others.

Hristomir Yordanov

Hristomir is a researcher in the filed of electromagnetic and microwave sensor systems.

He obtained his MSc and PhD degrees in the field of microwave engineering at the Munich University of Technology in 2006 and 2011 respectively. His work was focused on antenna systems.

Since 2011 Hristomir works on sensor systems for industrial and medical application. He was appointed on a Marie Curie scholarship at the Technical University of Sofia, where he was a lecturer at the Faculty of German Engineering Education.

Hristomir has a significant experience in international cooperation on research projects, and he works extensively with the EU funded programmes.

He is working with multiple international universities and research institutions.

Ralitsa Marinova

Daniela Konova

Daniela has a Bachelor’s degree from the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) with a double-major in European Studies and Political Science and International Relations. During her studies, she was part of a team of students who founded a Sustainability Club, in which she later served as a Treasurer.

She has experience with Erasmus+, doing research work and developing social media strategies and posts.

She speaks English and French.
